Soapy Bricks Privacy Policy
In short: Soapy Bricks has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your settings, scores and progress stay on your headset. Hand tracking and the scan of your room are handled on the headset and are never sent to us. Purchases are handled by Meta.
Who we are
Soapy Bricks is a mixed-reality breakout game for Meta Quest, made by Zelicra (zelicra.com). In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Zelicra.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The game does not ask you to sign up, does not contain analytics or advertising code, and does not send your gameplay, settings or scores to us or to anyone else.
Two things do involve other parties:
- Loading the game. Soapy Bricks runs in the headset's web browser, and its files are downloaded from our web host when you start it. As with any website, the host receives the technical details every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep them briefly in server logs for security and operations. We do not use this information to identify, track or profile players.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, and we delete them on request.
Data that stays on your headset
The game saves the following in the browser storage on your headset, so it is there the next time you play:
- your settings, such as paddle hand, sensitivity, volume and chosen look;
- your records, such as high score, best level, bricks broken, games played, and a run in progress so you can pick it up again.
This data never leaves the headset. Clearing the stored website data for Soapy Bricks in the headset's browser settings deletes it.
Hands and room. To play on your walls, the game uses hand tracking and your headset's understanding of the room: detected walls and surfaces, the room mesh, anchors, and the point you are looking at. The headset's browser processes this on the device while you play. The game uses it only to place the bricks and move the paddle, does not save it, and never sends it anywhere. The headset may ask you to allow access to your space; if you say no, you can still place the court by hand.
In-app purchases
Soapy Bricks is free to download and includes a demo. You can unlock the full game with a one-time in-app purchase. Meta processes that purchase through the Meta Horizon Store: we never see your payment card or billing details.
When you buy the unlock, and when the game starts, Meta tells the game on your headset whether you own it, so the full game can open. Meta handles payments under its own terms and privacy policy, which you can read in the Meta Horizon app or on meta.com.
Children
Soapy Bricks is not directed at children under 13. Meta requires that apps on its headsets do not allow use by children under 10.
The game does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the way the game handles data changes, we will update this page and its effective date before the change reaches players. If a change means we would start collecting personal information, we will say so plainly here first.
